In this workshop we will go deeply into the aspects of shoulder movement — exploring how simple exercises and movements closely related to the yoga poses can restore shoulder girdle function by clearing ’stuckness’ or blocks in the joints, which is the starting point for dealing with shoulder stiffness and pain. From that point, we can better work with rotator cuff problems and, in general, practice the shoulder actions of yoga poses more safely. This exploration will include deeper understanding of the anatomy, neurology and kinesiology of the joints, movements to practice, points of awareness to attend to, and also stretches and strengthening exercises.
