FULL COURSE – floor work + anatomy trains: the hip, the shoulder, the spine

£65.00

Know yourself (and your students) better by being able to see beneath the skin to the working of the myofascial body.

Join Tom Myers – author of Anatomy Trains, fascia and functional anatomy expert, and bodyworker – for a 6 hour deep dive into movement mechanics of the hip, the shoulder and the spine. Be warned: the slides include real dissections to show the interconnectedness of our muscles, tendons, ligaments.  A video of fascia under the microscope shows the quality of this connective tissue.

Floor Work & Anatomy Trains 1: The Hip
Explore the anatomy of hip movements – flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and rotation. Tour the hip joint itself – bones, joint, ligaments – and the surrounding muscles as three large fans that either restrict or allow the full range of movement.

This course includes dealing with common issues, as well as the connections to other parts of the body.

Floor Work and Anatomy Trains 2: The Shoulder
Explore the complex world of shoulder mechanics. After touring the joints and the surrounding muscles in an organised way, this course also explores common shoulder difficulties and their possible resolution.

See the arm as a bird’s wing, how the shoulder complex links into all parts of the torso and hips.

Floor Work and Anatomy Trains 3: The Spine
Explore the intricacies of spinal and rib movements, especially around breathing. What is spinal neutral? What are the limits of spinal movement? How does the spine accept load from the limbs? Tour the spine as you have not seen it before, learning the muscles that set its uprightness -in the back, to the sides, and in the front: diaphragm, psoas, pelvic floor, and longus muscles of the neck.

Know yourself (and your students) better by being able to see beneath the skin to the working of the myofascial body.
